The Association of Intermediaries in the Private Insurance of the Dodecanese “ISHYS” on the occasion of the Private Insurance Day, held an information session in a Primary School of the City of Rhodes on the History and Institution of Private Insurance.

The presentation made by the members of the association was accompanied by a projection of images in the form of comics and included a historical review from the first form of insurance in 3,000 BC. until today.

Particular emphasis was placed on the contribution of the Rhodians to the recording of the Etiquette Law of the sea as well as the Principle of General Casualty which was established in 900 BC, became known as the Rhodian Maritime Code and based on it is valid worldwide to this day.

The knowledge given to the children as well as the awareness of the institution’s contribution to the entire spectrum of Human and Business life, gave them another perspective of the word Safety.

We hope that our action, which will continue during the school year and in other Primary schools of Rhodes, will push the children to acquire Good Habits, Insurance Awareness and give them the impetus to create a safer world.
